Top Kentucky Hospitals Named “Best Regional Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report
Three Kentucky hospitals have been recognized among the nation’s “Best Regional Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report. The University of Kentucky hospital, St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood and Covington, and Baptist Health Louisville have all made the prestigious list.
The University of Kentucky hospital, known as UK HealthCare, has once again claimed the top spot in Kentucky. The hospital’s Albert B. Chandler Hospital has been ranked No. 1 in the state for the ninth consecutive year. Additionally, UK’s Markey Cancer Center has moved up to No. 36 in the nation for cancer care, solidifying its position as one of the top cancer centers in the country.
St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Baptist Health Louisville have also been recognized for their high performance in various procedures and conditions. St. Elizabeth’s Edgewood and Covington hospitals ranked high performing in 15 procedures and conditions, while Baptist Health Louisville ranked high performing in nine procedures and conditions.
Overall, the 35th annual rankings compared hospitals in 15 specialties and 20 common procedures and conditions. Data from the report was sourced from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the American Hospital Association, and professional organizations.
