Providence Hospitals in Los Angeles and Orange Counties Earn High Ratings from U.S. News & World Report
All eight eligible Providence hospitals in Los Angeles and Orange counties have received high ratings from U.S. News & World Report, with two hospitals ranking nationally for orthopedics care and one for rehabilitation.
The prestigious Best Hospitals rankings and ratings by U.S. News recognized more than 100 honors across the eight Providence hospitals. These hospitals were rated among California’s top 50 and named Best Regional Hospitals out of approximately 415 hospitals in the state.
Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica tied for No. 42 nationally in orthopedics, while Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach ranked No. 50. Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton tied for 45th in national rankings for rehabilitation.
The annual Best Hospitals rankings aim to assist patients and healthcare providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures. Laureen Driscoll, chief executive of Providence South Division in California, highlighted the collaboration and expertise of physicians and caregivers across Providence that led to these high ratings.
U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals across various specialties and procedures, with hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelling in factors such as clinical outcomes, nursing care, and patient experience.
In Los Angeles County, Providence Saint John’s was ranked 10th in the L.A. Metro Area and 19th in the state for quality. Other Providence hospitals in the county also received high rankings for their specialties and procedures.
In Orange County, Providence Mission Hospital ranked No. 8 in the L.A. Metro Area and No. 15 in the state, with other Providence hospitals in the county also receiving high rankings.
The hospitals received numerous “high performing” accolades for specialties and procedures, showcasing their expertise and commitment to patient well-being. U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as mortality rates, preventable complications, and nursing care.
