World’s Tallest Woman Reveals Why Flying is Different for Her: Watch the Intriguing Video
The world’s tallest woman, Rumeysa Gelgi, has opened up about her unique experience of flying in a recent video shared by Guinness World Records (GWR). In the video, Gelgi is seen traveling with Turkish Airlines and expressing her feelings during the journey.
Gelgi, who stands at an impressive height of 215.16 cm (7ft 0.7in), revealed that she has to lie down on a stretcher while flying due to her condition of scoliosis, which is characterized by severe spinal curvature. She also has 2 long rods and 30 screws in her spine, which prevent her spine from bending or twisting, making it necessary for her to keep her back straight and flat.
In the video, Gelgi expresses her excitement about the journey, saying, “I am literally so excited, my heart beats fast.” The airline staff can be seen assisting her in boarding the plane while she lies on the stretcher.
Social media users have shown their support and admiration for Gelgi, with one user commenting, “She is a lovely lady, and Turkish Airlines, I am sure, took good care of her.” Another user added, “We love you, Rumeysa Gelgi,” while others praised the airline for their kindness.
In addition to holding five Guinness World Records titles, Gelgi is an activist, public speaker, and passionate researcher. Her unusual height is due to a rare genetic mutation called Weaver Syndrome, which was diagnosed at birth. Despite her unique condition, Gelgi’s family members have not shown any signs of Weaver Syndrome, and they are incredibly supportive and proud of her.
Gelgi, who resides in Turkey, enjoys spending time with her family and loves reading crime novels. Her inspiring story and positive attitude have made her a national treasure for the Turks.
