Northwestern Medicine Hospitals Recognized in U.S. News & World Report Rankings
In the latest annual Best Hospital rankings by U.S. News & World Report, Northwestern Medicine hospitals have once again been recognized for their exceptional performance and high-quality care.
Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL, has been ranked No. 7 in both Illinois and the Chicago metropolitan area. The hospital is designated as “High Performing” in five specialties and recognized for its excellence in 13 procedures and conditions.
President Ken Hedley expressed his pride in the hospital’s ranking, stating, “Our staff are committed to delivering world-class care to our patients each and every day, and we are pleased to see this validated as a highly ranked hospital in both the Chicago area and in Illinois.”
Similarly, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest, IL, is tied at No. 8 in both Illinois and the Chicago metropolitan area. The hospital is nationally ranked in three specialties and designated as “High Performing” in four specialties, along with being recognized for its excellence in 5 procedures and conditions.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital has also been named to the Best Hospital Honor Roll for the 13th consecutive year, being the only Illinois hospital and one of only nine hospitals in the U.S. to be recognized as “High Performing” in all 20 rankings of procedures and conditions.
President and CEO Howard Chrisman credited the hospital’s continuous recognition to the dedication and commitment of its physicians, nurses, and staff in providing world-class compassionate care to patients.
