The Yuksel Brothers’ Journey: From San Francisco to Cincinnati
Brothers John and Matine Yuksel embarked on a journey from the bustling city of San Francisco to the quiet Midwest in pursuit of their entrepreneurial dreams. The duo, originally from southern Arizona, made the move in 2020 to launch their startup, Beltways, an accelerating walkway company.
Their venture led them to Dubuque, Iowa, where they found a peaceful setting to focus on their business away from the distractions of big city life. The brothers lived in a spacious mansion for half the price of their San Francisco condo, embracing the slower pace and snowy winters of Iowa.
Despite the challenges of starting a hardware manufacturing startup in a small town, John and Matine persevered and built the prototype for the world’s fastest-moving walkway. Their success in Iowa led them to Cincinnati in 2022, where they now reside with their parents and continue to grow their business.
While they sometimes miss the California coast, the brothers have found a welcoming community in Cincinnati’s tech scene. Their ultimate goal is to make their walkways commonplace and spread the technology worldwide, showcasing their dedication to fulfilling their father’s dream and leaving a lasting impact on the world.
