Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has solidified his position as the most influential global leader on Instagram, outshining former U.S. President Donald Trump in terms of audience size and digital reach. According to a report by Qoruz, an influencer analytics platform, Modi boasts an impressive 92.4 million followers on the platform, nearly three times more than Trump’s 31.7 million.
The study also revealed that Modi’s estimated reach per post stands at 14.3 million, which is more than double Trump’s 5.6 million. Additionally, Modi holds a higher Creator Authority Score of 9.42 compared to Trump’s 9.12. While Trump’s engagement rate of 1.96% is slightly higher than Modi’s 1.47%, Modi’s posts generate more average likes (1.4 million per post vs. 611,000 for Trump).
Modi’s reels also attract higher views, averaging 17.3 million per video, while Trump’s reels get 10.7 million views. However, Trump’s reel engagement rate of 2.07% surpasses Modi’s 1.30%, indicating that his video content resonates more with his followers. Modi’s image-based content performs exceptionally well, with an engagement rate of 3.71%, significantly higher than Trump’s 2.14%.
Despite Modi’s lead, Trump’s Instagram following is rapidly expanding, with a 54.7% increase in the past 30 days, gaining 16.4 million new followers. Modi’s following is predominantly India-based (94.75%), while Trump’s audience is more globally distributed, with 60.79% from the U.S. Modi’s audience is also younger, with 50.5% aged 25-34, compared to 37.48% in the same group for Trump.
