Joe Budden Charged with Lewdness After Allegedly Being Caught Naked on Neighbor’s Ring Camera
New Jersey Podcaster and Rapper Joe Budden Charged with Lewdness After Naked Incident Caught on Camera
Popular New Jersey podcaster and rapper Joe Budden found himself in hot water after being charged with lewdness following an incident where he was allegedly caught standing naked in the hallway of his apartment building, as captured by a neighbor’s Ring camera.
The Edgewater Police Department received a call from a concerned neighbor who had reviewed their Ring camera footage from December 4th and spotted a naked man in the apartment complex. The neighbor identified the man as Joseph Budden Jr., a 44-year-old male.
The footage showed Budden attempting to enter a code into the door keypad multiple times before eventually returning to his own residence across the hall. The incident triggered the neighbor’s Ring camera alert, which also sent notifications to their two young daughters.
Budden, known for his “Joe Budden Podcast,” has not publicly responded to the charges, but he has previously discussed issues with his neighbors and his tendency to sleepwalk on his podcast.
In response to the police press release, Budden’s attorney criticized the Edgewater Police Department for making the details of the arrest public. The attorney claimed that Budden had been waiting for his own complaints to be processed, which included potentially more serious charges against those who had accused him.
The lawyer also suggested that the press release may have been racially motivated, as Budden’s case was the only one where the department had issued a press release on a disorderly person charge that did not result in an arrest.
Budden, who rose to fame with his hit single “Pump It Up” in 2003, is scheduled to appear in court in January to address the lewdness charges. The Edgewater Police Department has not yet responded to requests for comment on the matter.
