Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Named Top Hospital in Florida by U.S. News & World Report
Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville has once again been recognized as the top hospital in Florida by U.S. News & World Report’s latest “Best Hospitals” ranking. This prestigious honor marks the eighth time in the last 10 years that the Southside facility has been named the best in the state.
Dr. Kent Thielen, CEO of Mayo Clinic in Florida, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We are humbled and honored to once again be ranked as the top hospital in Florida by U.S. News & World Report. Our outstanding teams are dedicated to continuing to push the boundaries of medicine while providing the highest quality care to each of our patients.”
In addition to being named the top hospital in Florida, Mayo Clinic also earned “high performing” status for 19 types of medical procedures. The hospital’s commitment to excellence and patient care has solidified its reputation as a leader in the healthcare industry.
U.S. News & World Report evaluates approximately 5,000 hospitals across 30 medical and surgical services each year to compile its rankings. The evaluation process includes analyzing data from hospitals and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to assess factors such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and level of nursing care.
Other Jacksonville-area hospitals also received recognition in the rankings, with Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville ranking 11th in the state and Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside at No. 22. Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Brooks Rehabilitation were nationally ranked in specialties as well.
