CSAA Insurance Group Names Katherine Evans as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer
CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, has announced the appointment of Katherine Evans as its Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. In her new role, Evans will be responsible for providing legal, regulatory, and compliance oversight for the company, as well as serving as a legal advisor to the board of directors, CEO, and other senior executives. She will report directly to CSAA’s president and CEO, Mike Zukerman.
Evans, who previously served as the company’s interim chief legal officer, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership to her new position. Zukerman expressed his excitement about Evans continuing in this role, stating, “We are thrilled to have her continue in this role and her expertise will be invaluable as we navigate the complexities of our industry. We are confident that Katie’s vision and insight will be instrumental in driving our company forward.”
In response to her appointment, Evans expressed her honor in leading a talented and dedicated team to manage the company’s legal landscape and support its mission. She emphasized the importance of driving strategic initiatives and creating innovative solutions to provide exceptional service to customers and stakeholders.
Prior to her role as interim chief legal officer, Evans served as CSAA’s vice president of regulatory and government affairs for five years, where she played a key role in the company’s efforts to innovate and operationalize new business ideas. She also has a strong background in insurance regulation, having previously worked as an insurance regulatory partner at Dentons, one of the largest law firms in the world.
Evans is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, and received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings. She has been recognized for her contributions to the insurance industry, including being named a “Rising Star” by Law360 in 2013.
