House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers Applauds House Passage of Broadband Deployment Bills

In a bipartisan effort to improve broadband access for Americans, the House Energy and Commerce Committee unanimously passed three bills from the Communications and Technology Subcommittee. House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) praised the work done by committee members to advance these bills, which aim to speed up broadband deployment and close the digital divide in the United States.

One of the bills, H.R. 3343, the Federal Broadband Deployment Tracking Act, sponsored by Reps. August Pfluger and Darren Soto, was passed unanimously. This bill seeks to address the issue of bureaucracy and red tape that have hindered many Americans from accessing high-speed broadband.

Another bill, H.R. 1377, the Promoting U.S. Wireless Leadership Act, sponsored by Reps. Tim Walberg, Debbie Dingell, and Ann Kuster, also passed unanimously. This bill aims to promote innovation and support American technological leadership in the wireless industry.

The third bill, H.R. 3293, the Expediting Federal Broadband Deployment Reviews Act, sponsored by Reps. Jeff Duncan and Angie Craig, was also passed unanimously. This bill is designed to streamline the process for federal broadband deployment reviews, making it easier for companies to expand broadband access across the country.

Chair McMorris Rodgers expressed her gratitude to the committee members for their commitment to these bills, which she believes will have a positive impact on broadband access and technological advancement in the years to come. With these bills now passed by the House, it is hoped that more Americans will soon have access to high-speed broadband, bridging the digital divide and promoting innovation in the United States.
