Barren County Chamber of Commerce Honors Outstanding Leaders at Achievement in Business Awards
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren County Chamber of Commerce, also known as Barren Inc., recently held its annual Achievement in Business Awards News Conference, where they announced the winners of the prestigious 2025 Magnolia Award and Small Business Person of the Year.
The Magnolia Award, sponsored by Houchens Industries, is presented to a female leader who exemplifies excellence in the Barren County community. This year, the award was bestowed upon Cortni Crews, Associate Superintendent for Barren County Schools. Cortni’s dedication to education, mentorship, and community impact has made her a standout leader in the region. From advocating for mental health services to securing significant donations for student needs, Cortni’s influence is truly remarkable.
The Small Business Person of the Year award, sponsored by The Peoples Bank, recognizes a local business owner who demonstrates excellence in entrepreneurship and running a successful small business. Nicole Rock, from Golden Gate Bridges, was honored with this award for her unwavering commitment to empowering individuals and transforming lives through her business. Nicole’s dedication to providing essential support services and creating enriching experiences for those in need has set her apart as a leader in the community.
Maureen Carpenter, President & CEO of Barren Inc., praised Cortni and Nicole as exemplary leaders in the community, stating that their work continues to propel Barren County forward and leave a lasting positive impact on individuals and the region as a whole.
Both Cortni and Nicole will be honored at the Achievement in Business Awards Luncheon on May 8, 2025, where they will serve as keynote speakers. The event will also recognize the 2025 Administrative Professional of the Year, Farmer of the Year, and Small Business of the Year. This luncheon marks the beginning of Small Business Appreciation Month and celebrates the vital role that local businesses and community leaders play in shaping a thriving, supportive community.
