The Ambanis have spared no expense for the upcoming wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai. The billionaire family has reportedly hired three Falcon-2000 jets to ferry guests to the extravagant event, making it one of the biggest Indian weddings in recent times.
Rajan Mehra, CEO of air charter company Club One Air, confirmed the news, stating that the Ambanis have booked three of his company’s jets to transport wedding guests. He anticipates that over 100 private planes will be used for the lavish affair.
The wedding will take place at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai’s central business district, with major traffic restrictions in place from July 12-15. Roads near the venue will only be open for “event vehicles” between 1 pm and midnight, as detailed by the Mumbai traffic police.
The celebrations will span three days, with the main wedding ceremony on Friday, followed by a day for blessings and a reception. The area around the venue is already buzzing with activity, adorned with decorative lights and flowers.
The weekend festivities are the culmination of a series of lavish events, including pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, a luxury cruise in Europe, and star-studded events in Mumbai. Global artists like Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and Katy Perry have performed for the celebrity guests, including top Bollywood actors.
