Colorado Springs Ranks No. 3 in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Places to Live for 2024-25

Colorado Springs has been named the third-best place to live in the United States for 2024-25, according to U.S. News & World Report. The city climbed six spots from its previous ranking, now trailing only Naples, Florida, and Boise, Idaho.

The ranking is based on factors such as quality of life, value, job market, and desirability. Colorado Springs scored high in the desirability index, with residents rating it as their top choice to live. This, along with other factors, helped propel the city to the top of the list.

Erika Giovanetti, a U.S. News reporter, highlighted the city’s balance of desirability, quality of life, job market, and value as key factors in its ranking. Colorado Springs also ranked well in housing affordability, considering its high cost of living compared to other cities.

Johnna Reeder Kleymeyer, president and CEO of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce & EDC, credited the city’s strong economy and job market for its appeal. She also mentioned quality of life additions, such as new entertainment options, as factors attracting young residents.

Overall, Colorado Springs’ ranking reflects its small-town atmosphere with big-city amenities, making it an attractive place to live for a wide range of residents. Other Colorado cities also made the list, with Boulder ranking 10th, Fort Collins at 39th, and Denver at 40th.

The rankings also included the top and bottom 10 cities, with Greenville, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina, among the top performers, and cities like Detroit and San Juan, Puerto Rico, at the bottom of the list.
