TransCore Tolling Technology Goes Live in West Virginia, Offering Drivers Enhanced Payment Options and Infrastructure
TransCore tolling technology has successfully gone live in West Virginia, offering drivers a more convenient and efficient way to pay tolls. The Infinity tolling technology, deployed along the West Virginia Turnpike, includes upgraded E-ZPass infrastructure and toll-by-plate payment options at all four toll plazas.
The West Virginia Parkways Authority (WVPA) partnered with TransCore in 2008 to implement a multimodal tolling system that supports electronic payments. Over the years, electronic transactions have become increasingly popular among drivers, leading to the need for an upgraded tolling system to accommodate the growing demand.
With the new toll-by-plate technology now live on all E-ZPass lanes, travelers can pass through toll plazas quickly and conveniently, with the option to pay later online. This system upgrade aims to improve traveler experience and roadway efficiency, aligning with WVPA’s mission to provide a seamless journey for Turnpike drivers.
Jeff Miller, WVPA’s Executive Director, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership with TransCore, stating that the new technology will enhance the overall experience for motorists. Whitt Hall, President and CEO of TransCore, highlighted the company’s commitment to designing and deploying advanced systems that optimize toll road operations and improve user experience.
In addition to the tolling technology upgrade, WVPA recently launched its Integrity back-office system in partnership with TransCore, offering drivers more flexible account management and self-service payment options. This continuous collaboration between WVPA and TransCore demonstrates a commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction in tolling technology.
