Opportunities in the Regulated Sports Betting Market in Brazil: Demand for Qualified Professionals and High Salaries

The regulation of sports betting in Brazil, sanctioned in December 2023, has opened up a new world of opportunities for professionals in the country. Law 14.790/2023 established clear rules for the operation of the sports betting market, providing legal security, combating illegality, and boosting tax collection.

With this new regulation, licensed companies can now offer online and physical point bets on various sports events, as well as casino games. This has led to a surge in demand for qualified professionals in the industry.

According to Lucas Papa, executive manager at Michael Page, the regulation has provided sports betting companies with the legal security they needed to invest and expand their operations in Brazil. Companies are now actively seeking professionals with leadership profiles and experience in operations management, particularly in the areas of finance, marketing, and compliance.

Michael Page, a leading executive recruitment consultancy, has identified the most sought-after positions in the betting market, along with their respective salaries. Positions such as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Legal/Compliance Director, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) are in high demand, with salaries ranging from R$ 20,000 to R$ 45,000.

The growth in hires in the sports betting market and the details about high-demand positions and salaries were obtained through the analysis of Michael Page’s internal data. This new regulation has not only opened up a new niche of professional opportunities but has also brought about a wave of investment and growth in the industry.
