Top Colorado University Ranks in Top 100 Schools in 2024

The Colorado School of Mines in Golden has been named the 76th-best national university in the entire country, according to the recent U.S. News and World Report 2024 rankings. Known for its focus on science and engineering research, the public institution boasts a smaller undergraduate enrollment of 5,733 students. With an acceptance rate of 58%, the School of Mines offers out-of-state tuition at $42,120 and in-state tuition at $20,040, with an average annual tuition cost of $25,211.

This recognition places Colorado among the top states for higher education, despite being ranked as the 16th best state overall and the third most dangerous in the U.S. The report analyzed nearly 1,500 four-year bachelor’s degree-granting institutions on various factors, including graduation rates, retention rates, and faculty resources.

While the Colorado School of Mines stands out as a top institution, it is not the only university in the state to receive recognition. The rankings also highlight other top colleges in Colorado. Nationally, Princeton University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University claimed the top three spots.
