Luxury Dog Park Off Leash Alpharetta Offers Unique Experience for Pet Owners

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a surge in pet ownership, prompting the opening of new dog parks across the country. One of the latest additions is Off Leash Alpharetta, located at 142 South Main St. This luxury dog park offers a unique experience with both outdoor and indoor spaces, a canine-friendly dining patio, and a human-only restaurant and bar.

Co-founded by Wendy Newman and Lonnie Cooper, Off Leash Alpharetta boasts a 22,000-square-foot turfed field outside and a 3,000-square-foot indoor park. The park welcomed its 142 founding members on July 14, with more than 100 canines in attendance at the opening event.

Unlike traditional municipal dog parks, Off Leash Alpharetta offers a membership-based model where guests can enjoy the facilities with an active membership or day pass. The park also features professionally trained “dogtenders” to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.

With plans to open a second location in Decatur next year, Off Leash aims to expand its brand and provide a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for dog owners and lovers. Special events such as doggy yoga, pet adoptions, and training workshops are planned, along with college football game viewings and a full menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The founders chose the former Rite Aid building at South Main Street and Old Milton Parkway for its ideal layout and outdoor space. Despite some initial confusion among patrons, Off Leash Alpharetta remains a unique destination for dog owners to bond with their pets in a safe and welcoming environment.
