Las Vegas Spaceport: A New Frontier for Space Tourism

Real estate developer Rob Lauer is aiming to bring space tourism to Nevada with his ambitious plans to build a spaceport near Las Vegas. Lauer, the CEO of Las Vegas Spaceport and a former US Army military police officer, envisions a future where tourists can board space planes for journeys to destinations like hotels in space, the moon, or even Mars.

The proposed Las Vegas Spaceport would cater to both commercial and private space tourism, offering a unique experience just a 15-minute helicopter ride away from the bustling Las Vegas Strip. With the city already attracting millions of visitors each year, the addition of a spaceport could further boost tourism and economic growth in the area.

While space tourism has traditionally been reserved for billionaires and elite travelers, Las Vegas Spaceport aims to make it more accessible to the general public. The company plans to offer educational programs for potential flyers, including a STEM academy where students can access flight simulators and receive civilian space flight acclimation training.

Before launching rockets and passenger hubs, Las Vegas Spaceport is focusing on the first phase of its project: securing approval for The Las Vegas Executive Airport. The company recently received construction permits for an airstrip, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards realizing the spaceport.

With $10 million in pledges from investors contingent on FAA and Clark County approval, Las Vegas Spaceport is poised to revolutionize space travel and tourism in Southern Nevada. Construction on the airport could begin in just three months, bringing the dream of space tourism one step closer to reality.
