“Fly By Junk Haulers Set to Move to New Location in Slavic Village”
A new business is making waves in Cleveland as Fly By Junk Haulers, a growing company specializing in removing unwanted items from homes and businesses, is in the process of purchasing a historic building in Slavic Village. The 98-year-old office-warehouse building on Broadway Avenue is set to be the new home for Fly By Junk Haulers, which is currently located in Old Brooklyn.
The company, led by Kevin Traub, is known for its eco-friendly disposal services and has been serving Greater Cleveland, including Portage and Summit counties. The move to the new location will allow Fly By Junk Haulers to expand its operations and serve a larger market.
The building, built in 1926, is in poor condition but features a colorful mural on its façade with encouraging messages about the Slavic Village community. The purchase of the building includes four parcels totaling 0.71 acres, a parking lot, and a 13,230-square-foot warehouse/office with a basement.
The Old Brooklyn Community Development Corp., which currently owns the building in Old Brooklyn where Fly By Junk Haulers is located, is supportive of the company’s growth and move to a new location. The OBCDC bought the Pearl Road property in 2021 and has seen Fly By Junk Haulers as a valuable tenant.
Slavic Village Development is also excited about the potential move and is planning to meet with Traub to discuss his plans and any financial assistance he may need for the renovation of the new location. The community is eager to see the impact of Fly By Junk Haulers in their neighborhood.
As Traub prepares for the move, the county has valued the office/warehouse on Broadway at $60,400 for tax purposes. The building has a rich history, previously housing a retailer named Electronic Surplus and a company called All-Tronics Medical Systems.
