Neurologist Meeting with President Biden’s Doctor at the White House: What You Need to Know

Neurologist specializing in Parkinson’s disease meets with President Biden’s personal doctor at the White House

In a recent development, Dr. Kevin Cannard, a Parkinson’s disease expert at Walter Reed Medical Center, had a meeting with President Biden’s personal doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, at the White House earlier this year. The meeting, which took place on January 17, also included Dr. John E. Atwood, a cardiologist at Walter Reed, and another unidentified individual.

Dr. Cannard, who has been working at Walter Reed for nearly 20 years, is known for his expertise in Parkinson’s disease. He serves as the “neurology specialist supporting the White House Medical Unit” since 2012. His most recent paper, published in August 2023, focuses on the early stages of Parkinson’s disease.

Given that President Biden’s health is Dr. O’Connor’s primary responsibility, it is speculated that the meeting was related to the commander-in-chief. Rep. Ronny Jackson, who has served as the doctor for both Presidents Obama and Trump, stated that it is highly likely the discussion revolved around President Biden’s health.

Dr. O’Connor has been President Biden’s official physician since he took office in January 2021 and is in daily contact with the president. He recently gave President Biden a clean bill of health at his annual physical, which included a neurological exam ruling out Parkinson’s disease.

However, concerns about President Biden’s cognitive health have been raised by some, including Rep. Ronny Jackson, who accused Dr. O’Connor of participating in a “cover-up” of the president’s diminishing cognitive health. Dr. Rob Howard, a professor of old age psychiatry at University College London, also pointed out symptoms indicative of Parkinson’s disease displayed by President Biden.

Senator Roger Marshall, who is also a physician, stated that many in the medical community have suspected for years that President Biden might be suffering from Parkinson’s disease. The American people deserve to know the truth before voting in November, he added.

Despite the speculation and concerns raised, both Dr. Cannard and Dr. Atwood declined to comment on the matter. The White House spokesperson mentioned that a variety of specialists from the Walter Reed system visit the White House complex to treat military personnel, but did not provide further details on the meeting between Dr. Cannard, Dr. O’Connor, and Dr. Atwood.
