Florence Bank donates $100K to the Iron Horse

Florence Bank has made a generous donation of $100,000 to the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton. The donation is part of a $750,000 capital campaign for renovations and updates to the iconic music venue. The Iron Horse, which opened its doors on Wednesday, is currently undergoing updates by the Parlor Room Collective, the organization that purchased the venue last fall.

Chris Freeman, the executive director of the Parlor Room Collective, expressed gratitude for the bank’s contribution, stating that the funds will support ongoing work at the venue located at 20 Center St. The Parlor Room Collective, a nonprofit organization, was initially supported by Florence Bank to start an open mic series, which has since become self-sustainable.

Florence Bank President and CEO Matt Garrity highlighted the significance of the Iron Horse in the local music scene since its establishment in 1979. He expressed pride in supporting the Parlor Room Collective’s efforts to revive the venue.

The donation from Florence Bank will play a crucial role in the revitalization of the Iron Horse Music Hall, ensuring that it continues to be a vibrant hub for music and entertainment in the community. Learn more about the campaign at ironhorse.org/revive-the-iron-horse.
