The endorsements include former mayor Scott Smith for mayor, Richard Adams for the Council District 1 seat, Julie Spilsbury for District 2, Vice Mayor Francisco Heredia for District 3, Jack Sellers for Maricopa County Board of Supervisors District 1, and Thomas Galvin for District 2.

The Chamber emphasized the importance of electing officials who will support a strong business environment and talented workforce in Mesa. The endorsements were determined by a vote of the organization’s Good Government committee, based on candidate responses to a questionnaire, interviews, and a public candidate forum.

Local political strategist Tyler Montague noted the significance of the Chamber’s endorsement in local politics, but also highlighted the importance of endorsements from police and fire organizations. Public safety is a top issue in Mesa, and endorsements from these groups carry weight in the community.

Candidates have proudly displayed their endorsements from public safety organizations on their campaign websites and social media platforms. The support from these groups not only validates the candidates’ commitment to public safety but also provides a monetary contribution to their campaigns.

Overall, the endorsements from the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, Mesa Police Association, and United Mesa Fire Fighters Local 2260 are shaping the landscape of the upcoming election and highlighting the importance of supporting business interests and public safety in Mesa.
